Botox Treatment

Botox® injections are an affordable treatment that anyone can access. Unlike some cosmetic medical treatments, they’re suitable for virtually anyone who has wrinkles or other skin lines that they want to remove. This includes people who want to fight the signs of natural aging, or those who’ve developed lines from exposure to the sun.

Botulinum Toxin (Botox®) when injected into a muscle temporarily relaxes the muscle by blocking nerve impulses. As the nerve impulses are blocked the muscle is temporarily unable to contract so that dynamic wrinkles are not formed. This gives the overlying facial skin a softer, smoother and more youthful appearance.

Most frequent application areas of Botox include:

  • Softening the Forehead Lines
  • Softening the Frown Lines
  • Eyebrow Lifting
  • Treatment of Crows Feet
  • Treatment of Bunny Lines
  • Nose Tip Lifting
  • Softening the Smoker’s Lines
  • Softening the Chin Dimples (Orange Peel look)
  • Softening the Neck Bands and Lines
  • Calf Reduction

Primary non-cosmetic application areas of Botox include:

  • Migraine and Headaches
  • Dystonic Spasm or Twisting of the Neck (Torticollis)
  • Involuntary Contraction of the Orbital and Extra-ocular Muscles
  • Writer’s Cramps
  • Contraction of the Masseter Muscle and Bruxism
  • Myoclonic Twitches (Dystonia & Spasticity)
  • Abnormally Increased Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)

In certain circumstances, Botox® injections are not recommended, if:

  • You have a skin infection
  • You’re unwell in any way
  • You have a neuromuscular condition like myasthenia gravis
  • You’re taking certain medicines
  • You’re pregnant or breastfeeding
